Two women, a young woman and presumably her grandmother, walk away from the Church after daily Mass. .The colors are quiet and autmnal; the atmosphere is serene.

The painting is signed, "H. Salentin.Dusseldorf 1876." Hubert Salentin (1822-1910) was a German painter. He had been a blacksmith for fourteen years prior to that, and in his early middle age went to art school. He mainly painted warm-hearted scenes from rural German life, occasionally showing something from the people's Catholic lives, such as a baptism. He has another painting we think is beautiful and hope to offer, of a woman kneeling at a roadside shrine. (source: wikipedia)

** IMPORTANT ** The image is smaller than the paper! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11, or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. The border gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in frames without using a matt.
